New vacancy is available for a Temporary Occupational Health Nurse for a 9-month contract for our client in the Automotive Industry, based in Kariega.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Occupational Health Nurse will provide a comprehensive primary health care service, focusing on preventative, curative, promotive, rehabilitative care, and administration. The role emphasizes a holistic approach to employee well-being, addressing physical, psychological, and social factors in the work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-employment and pre-placement medical examinations.
Implement periodic screenings and surveillance programs.
Perform exit/termination medical exams to assess health impacts from the work environment.
Treat and follow up on injuries sustained on duty (IOD) and evaluate fitness to resume work.
Provide care for non-work-related illnesses and injuries.
Educate employees about health topics, including HIV/AIDS, and offer pre- and post-test counseling.
Handle administrative tasks such as record keeping, statistics, sick leave administration, and medicine control.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Nursing Science.
Certificate in Occupational Health Nursing.
Registration with the South African Nursing Council.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years relevant nursing experience.
