Job Description Summary
The Quality Assurance Nurse has responsibility in the implementation of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement needs for the organization. Accountable for the timeliness and quality of medical charts.
QA Nurse responsibilities
- Reviews medical records for assessment of the quality of clinical services to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures and applicable standards
- Works closely with the Director of Patient Care Services and helps to review and inspect that all notes are accurate, detailed, and precise and that they are returned in a timely manner
- Develops, implements, and completes audits for medical records, and administrative claims
- Provides quality assurance through careful review of both technical and clinical content of the charts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Maintains current information and requirements related to applicable laws, regulations and standards
- Works/interfaces with the care plan team in the review process
- Coordinates the implementation of Medical Record's policy to assess the quality and appropriateness of patient care
- Attends and participates in in-services, staff meetings and case conferences
- All other duties and requirements deemed necessary and appropriate
