The Nurse Supervisor – Ward Manger of Dialysis Unit is a key member of the hospital clinical management team whose primary role is to oversee the nursing care provided in the Dialysis Unit, has 24/7 responsibility for the clinical care of patients and operation of the unit, manages Enrolled Nurses, Assistant Nursing Officers and Nursing Officers. Plans, directs and coordinates medical and health services. Sets and carries out policies, goals, and procedures for the department and evaluates the quality of the staff’s work. Develops reports and budgets for their Unit. Assures that the needs of the patients and doctors in the Dialysis Unit and associated areas are met, resulting in excellent outcomes. Serves as acting Head Nurse as assigned. The incumbent will ensure transparency and confidentiality in all matters pertaining to facility.


Education and Experience profile:

  • B.Sc. degree in Nursing from a recognized Institution/University essential
  • Post Basic Diploma in Nephrology / Dialysis techniques is preferred
  • Must be registered with the Uganda Nurses & Midwives Council.
  • Minimum 8 years as Registered Nurse in in-patient units, nephrology/Dialysis or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years as Senior Nursing Officer.
