What you’ll do:
Prepares room and patient for office visit/procedures
Assist the physician in treatments and in-office procedures
Prepare, draw-up, and reconstitute injectables for in-office procedures for various physician specialties
Draw blood as needed for in office procedures
Overseeing patient flow to ensure throughput efficiency, room patients
Perform telephone triage as directed, provide medical advice within scope and/or direct to clinical team members. Participate in office or over the phone patient education
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff in a fast paced environment
Update/enter patient medical information within practice management system, chart updates, records vitals per physician request and/or practice standards. Accesses X-RAYs, MRIs, CTs, and various studies pertaining to the patient’s exam.
Assists members of clinical support staff and physicians with all duties as necessary and appropriate. (includes patient care, post-op phone follow-up calls and other patient phone calls, medication updates
Maintain/order consistent room stocking inventory.
Maintain medical protocols set in the office
Disposes of hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation, replaces sharps containers when required. Maintains highest standards of safety and compliance.
Reviews physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative reports, dictations, and studies are present in the chart
Fit, dress, obtain, measure durable medical equipment (DME) as directed by physician.
Perform staple, suture, DME removals as directed by physician
Position requires coverage for other locations on an as-needed basis
Who you are:
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
Phlebotomy Certification Required
Previous clinical experience required
Current CT & NY State registration and licensure
BLS certification
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft office preferred
