SUMMARY:  The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse is responsible for identifying the needs of each resident and assisting in the planning and the delivery of patient care to meet those needs. The LVN collects data, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the care plan or treatment plan, and contributes to the evaluation of individualized interventions related to the care plan or treatment plan. The LVN, after appropriate educational preparation, is capable of expanded scope of practice in intravenous therapy. He/She may handle human blood and other potentially infectious and/or hazardous materials, which may result in possible exposure to blood borne pathogens and/or harmful elements. This position may be responsible for the basic assessment, treatment and care of the resident in the following age groups adult and geriatric. The LVN reports to the Registered Nurse. The LVN is accountable to the Director, Sub-Acute.

 

Requirements:

  • CA LVN license, Intravenous certification required.
  • BLS certification within (30 days of employment).
  • Minimum 6 months experience  
  • Has full command (verbal and written) of the English language.
  • Possess the physical abilities, including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity, e.g., visual, hearing, to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions.
