Essential Functions

1. Nursing care and supervision of C.N.A. and C.M.T staff on your shift

2. Ensure quality nursing care is provided to residents on your shift

3. Documentation of care provided on your shift

4. Physician notifications of condition changes and obtaining new orders

5. Notifications to resident families/responsible parties as needed

6. Resident assessments

7. Admissions and discharges on your shift

8. Any other duties specified and deemed necessary by the Director of Nursing or Administrator

Work Environment

Indoor with adequate lighting and ventilation, carpet, tile and concrete floors. May include outdoor or public activities or attending recreational activities with residents.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Standing, sitting, walking, changing of position, reaching, extending hands and arms, reach across midline, crouching, balancing, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting 50lbs from sit to stand and push, pull, lower 100lbs and push resident in wheelchair 350lbs

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT RESIDENTS OR SUPPORT ENTIRE WEIGHT OF A RESIDENT. LOWER RESIDENT TO THE FLOOR IN THE EVENT OF A FALL, UTILIZE TWO PERSON PROCEDURE. UTILIZE REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Sensory Demands

Auditory: to hear and understand verbal requests

Visual: be able to read necessary information to complete work tasks

Verbal: communicate with residents and others on your team

Safety Equipment

When administering resident care, gait beltm lumbar support, mechanical lifts and two man lift policy

PPE is required when appropriate to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other illnesses

Mandatory reporting of all work related injuries within 24 hours to supervisor with required documentation and drug testing

Position Type/Expected Hours

Full time position, hours vary dependinig on coverage and facility demands. Must be able and willing to accept on call rotation and assist in coverage of shifts as needed when on call
