Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)/ PCA/HHA Job Description- Bowel Care
CNA/ PCA/ HHA Responsibilities:
Provide great patient care.
Answer patient calls and determine how best to assist them.
Provide physical support for patients or residents with daily activities Toileting, Walking,Standing, Exercising, Eating/Diet, Medication Assistance, Vital Signs, Basic First Aid and CPR, Hygiene: Bathing, Grooming, Shaving, Dental Care, Dressing?
Obtain a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient condition, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
Following the client's service plan & documenting any changes in the client’s condition
Ensure patients receive an appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
Measure and record food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
Record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff.
Ambulation and transfer, including positioning;Turn and reposition bedridden patients
Examine patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine
Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements
Note/Document observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses
Stay up to date on CNA/PCA/HHA training and agency policy and procedures
Home management, home safety and sanitation; Infection control in the home
Bowel Care experience; stimulating the patients bowel to ensure the patient have a movement.
Monday - Friday, or every other weekend from 4pm-7pm.
