Walton Medical Centre has an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse practitioner to join our practice. This role can be offered on part-time basis, working 15-20 hours per week with flexibility to days and hours worked.

As a nurse practitioner, you will be providing assessment, treatment, screening and advice to patients and working independently and alongside the nursing team/GP, making decisions/recommendations as required. 
There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with on-going professional development (training support, CPD and peer support). The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate must have the following;

  • Registered general nurse with experience of working within primary care.
  • Demonstrate continued professional development and professionalism. 
  • Recognised qualification at degree level or above including a diagnostic and nurse prescribing qualification.
  • Experience of providing multi-skilled healthcare and clinical treatment and be able to work with patients and members of the public.
  • Experience of working on clinical systems and be able to enter and use patient date efficiently, whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to liaise and communicate with clinical and administrative staff within the practice and partnership.

 

 

About Us
Walton Medical Practice is situated in the traditional seaside resort of Walton on the Naze, on the Essex Coast. They have a list size of just over 8300 patients. As well as 2 GP Partners and a salaried GP, the practice team includes a clinical pharmacy team of 2, a Nursing team of 10 and an efficient and effective reception and administrative team of 18.

The Colte Partnership is a GP super-partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 8 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 80,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.

As well as general practice, we offer extended access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and social prescribing. We are working to be at the forefront of clinical research and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.

We also work as three collaborative Primary Care Networks (PCN’s) which span across Colchester and Tendring:

  • Riverside Medical Centre and Ardleigh Surgery
  • Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre and Rowhedge Medical Centre
  • Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre and Wivenhoe Medical Centre
