As the Nurse Manager of Med/Surg, you will oversee and integrate the nursing process across the facility and its associated departments. You will organize, plan, direct, and evaluate services with a focus on delivering superior patient outcomes. Your role as a clinical expert and mentor ensures a high-performing, engaged team while driving compliance with Riverside Health System standards and strategic goals.
What Youβll Do:
- Champion Patient-Centered Care: Continuously elevate patient and resident satisfaction by integrating feedback from surveys, incident reports, and benchmarking data into service improvements.
- Drive Quality and Safety: Monitor and address occurrence reports and patient complaints with timely, constructive follow-ups, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to safety protocols.
- Lead Process Improvements: Actively participate in Performance Improvement (PI) activities, focus groups, and quality initiatives while gathering actionable insights through patient surveys.
- Mentor and Develop Teams: Inspire and guide employees with consistent coaching and feedback to foster high morale, professional growth, and a collaborative atmosphere.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to state, federal, and accrediting body requirements, ensuring operational excellence and high-quality care delivery.
- Strengthen Relationships: Build positive partnerships with physicians, sharing quality reports and engaging them in collaborative decision-making processes.
- Oversee Staffing and Productivity: Manage daily and long-term staffing needs to ensure 24/7 coverage, stepping in as needed to maintain operations during unplanned shortages.
- Foster Organizational Advancement: Represent the facility and department in professional development initiatives, committee assignments, and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorβs Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Experience:
- 1 year of RN experience (Required)
- 1 year of supervisory experience (Preferred)
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license β Virginia or a compact state (Required)
- Specialty Nursing Certification (e.g., CMSRN, CCRN, etc.) (Preferred)
